Education
BHU, ICGEB, UTSWMC
Dr. Sumana Chakravarty received her postgraduate degree in Zoology from Banaras Hindu University in 1988. She further earned her Doctor of Philosophy in zoology from Banaras Hindu University in 1997, where she worked with Prof S.K Singh on reproductive endocrinology and physiology using mouse models.
She then joined International Centre for Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology, New Delhi in 1997 as postdoctoral fellow where she emphasized on investigating the male reproductive physiology. She performed postdoctoral research at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, Texas, USA from 1999 to 2005.
Research Positions
UTSWMC,
CSIR-IICT
She joined UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, Texas, USA as an instructor (2005-2008). She returned to India in 2009 as she received the prestigious Ramalingaswami Re-entry Fellowship. She joined as Ramalingaswami Fellow Scientist (2009-2013) of DBT and worked as PI at CSIR-IICT, India. She is the first woman to get this prestigious award and established a neurobiology laboratory at CSIR-IICT. She was appointed as a Quick Hire Fellow at CSIR-IICT in 2013.
She joined the present position in 2016 as Principal Scientist at CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad.

PhD (DBT-SRF )
Hello all, I am Kalyani Soren hailing from Kolkata. I did my master's in animal biotechnology from University of Hyderabad.
My current work focuses on understanding the sexual dimorphism in stressed-induced mood disorders and the comorbid cognitive deficits associated with it.
Debiprasad Sinha
PhD ( UGC-SRF )
I belong to West Bengal and pursued master's degree in human physiology from Calcutta University.
I am currently investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying the pathophysiology of global stroke. I use BCCAO ( Bilateral Common Carotid Artery Occlusion) model for my study.
Mydhili Radhakrishnan
PhD ( CSIR-SRF )
Hi all, I belong to Quilon, Kerala and I pursued my master's in Genomics Science from Central university of Kerala.
My research work aims to unravel Sex specific Epigenetic and Transcriptional regulatory mechanisms in Focal cerebral ischemia induced neural damage, repair and recovery utilizing ICAO (Internal Carotid Artery Occlusion )mice model.
Vincy Vijay
PhD ( DST Inspire SRF)
I am vincy vijay, post graduate in genomic science from central university of Kerala. Chronic stress induced depression, anxiety and related mood disorders are very common mental disorders affecting people of all age groups. My work is focused on deciphering the sex specificity in molecular mechanism underlying depression using mouse model.
